Bhumi Chaudhari



Bhumi Chaudhari is an Electrical & Automation engineer who began her professional career in the Instrumentation & Automation field.  Her work led her into a research field in engineering with more than three years of experience in the Research & development in nuclear power and renewable energy. Bhumi has worked with government engineering services firms in India under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), the most prestigious government research sector in India. Bhumi likes to accept challenges in Research & Development, design & prototype and support in power generation projects such as nuclear and renewable energy projects. Bhumi has held positions of responsibility and development for sophisticate automation in plants. she possesses extensive knowledge in the field of process design, thermal hydraulics, Industrial instruments & automation and various programming tools as well as operation and maintenance, combined with strong analytical skills.


Prior to joining Stark Engineering Consulting, Bhumi worked for Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) where she spent 3 years. Bhumi had been selected for Research in Fusion Development Of India under Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). She has been involved in Control and Monitoring Department of Steady state Tokamak, IPR(SST). She has developed algorithm for feedback in SST Tokamak for sustainable plasma current drive. Moreover, she has observed and analyzed theoretical as well as experimental results of Tokamak Plasma generation Campaigns.


Bhumi has been working with Stark EC as an electrical and automation engineer. She is part of the Renewable Energy Generation Operation and Maintenance team and designated position for performance reporting engineer for all renewable energy assets. She is also working as control engineer on many projects such as Allied mills, and Salt pan creek leachate treatment plant. Actively involved in many SCADA upgrade projects for Renewable and Operation Management (REG O&M) team of Sydney water cogeneration plants and hydro plants.

Bhumi obtained a bachelor degree in lnstrumentation & Control Engineering, as well as master degree in Nuclear Engineering at the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), one of India's modern and well known universities.

  • Presented paper on “Application of Automation Tools (PLC & SCADA) in Emergency Shut Down System in Nuclear Power Plant” in Institute of Nuclear Material Management (INMM) annual meeting in Atlanta, USA.

  • Presented paper & Poster in Center of Plasma Physics symposium “Proposed Feedback Control for Plasma current by LHCD(Lower Hybrid Current Drive) in SST-1”

  • Presented Paper & Poster at 59th Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Symposium  on “Design of Safety Interlocks for 14Mev neutron generator”

  • Won 1st prize on model building competition on project of “Desalination plant based on Nuclear small module reactor” for Government of Gujarat.

  • Co-author of invited talk on “Initial Results in SST-1 After upgrade” in 10th Asia Plasma & Fusion Association Conference with main author Dr Subrata Pradhan and SST team.
