About
Koen Windey is a director and co-owner of Stark Engineering Consulting. He is also an energetic design engineer who likes getting his hands dirty.

 

Koen is our lead on everything that has to do with cogeneration plants and gas handling. He is also a highly skilled all-rounder, ready to take on any challenge that comes his way. Using his academic background, Koen has the capacity to quickly break problems down to their basic components. At the same time, Koen will use his years of experience as commissioning and maintenance engineer to probe solutions for their sustainability and practicality.

 

At Stark EC, Koen divides his efforts between providing engineering and management guidance to the Sydney Water REG team,  as well as developing new and expanding on existing business opportunities. He has been at the helm of some of our biggest successes with ongoing recognition from our customers.

Prior to joining Stark EC, Koen has worked for WorleyParsons where he spent 7 years conceiving, designing, building and operating Sydney Water's renewable energy portfolio. Before moving to Australia, he spent 3 years honing his skills and learning from expert colleagues in Belgium's highly-respected nuclear engineering industry.

 

Koen obtained a master degree in Mechanical Engineering and Energy Conversion, as well as Nuclear Engineering at the University of Leuven, one of Europe's oldest and most renowned universities.

  • Electrical generation and protection systems

  • Commissioning and management thereof

  • Contract tendering and management
