Food waste to Power

As part of their ongoing commitment to a sustainable future and optimising the value for their customers, Sydney Water is gearing up to convert liquefied food waste to power at their Cronulla waste water treatment plant (WWTP).

Following initial trials at the Bondi plant, Sydney Water have decided to construct a full scale food waste processing unit, to handle this additional waste stream in their already existing anaerobic digestion process at Cronulla WWTP.

At Stark, we're obviously proud that one of the cogeneration plants we helped designing, construction and building last year has been selected to benefit from this innovative approach. Without a doubt, this will impact the operation and maintenance we provide for this plant, and we're certain that together we'll be able to significantly boost renewable electricity production on this site.
